HALOGENIC is a collection of writings, some historical, all finally in one place, triangulated somewhere between the nodes of Talent, Technology and the New Creativity. Early pieces were featured on the Creative Skillset blog, but there was always anxiety that important skills issues discussed there might be misinterpreted as in some way being the organisation’s policy.

HALOGENIC is a Sandbox, and represents my own views on digital culture, talent, and what I’m grandly calling “the new creativity”.

Although through my work I come into contact with many people working in film, tv and animated media I’ve always been more fascinated by the almost invisible movers and shakers of our media firmament- Catmull, Alvy-Smith, Hauser, Brin and Page, The Oliver twins, Torvalds, -who have changed our culture by setting in train innovations we are only beginning to explore.
